my quest for a 240...
with a 5spd tranny are coming up short so far.
but in my searches i found a 1990 300zx twin turbo 2x2
$9K!!!
the only two things keeping me from getting it:
1) it's one heavy ****
2) insurance on a twin turbo for a 21 y/o is BRUTAL

Those are the only two things keeping you from getting it? What about
3) a 1990 300zx probably has waaaay over 100k miles on it
4) those turbos are gonna need replacing very soon
5) it's BANK to work on a 300zx TT or NA
When I was looking for a car I came across tons of ZXs and really wanted to get one but realized that the setbacks of owning that car are HUGE and there's no way I wanted to go for it. One thing's for sure though, they're awesome cars when you don't have to worry about mileage and what's gonna go wrong next.

they don't mean anything to me. engines can be replaced. those cars are a dime a dozen around here.
by the way. thats $9K canadian.. i have $12K in personal credit so thats not a problem either.
$9K canadian is like $5K US

Yea, engines can be replaced, but in the case of that car, it's costs a lot of money. The engine itself is bank, not to mention that's probably the most expensive car laborwise i've ever seen.

yea bro, i feel you on the search for a ride coming up short. i am looking for a 240sx coupe (91-93).. for a good price ~3000 U.S. dont wanna pay more than that. ones i find are in the 4grand range or are just too far.

I've just begun looking for a 240 sx as well, but as of right now I'm looking for a 97-98 (I like the front end) and doing an SR swap as soon as I get the cash for it. That probably wont happen until either next summer or winter break coming up though. Anyone know what decent prices are for mint quality 97's or 98's?

oh baby it finally happened!
