Exclamation in need of help

well, first of all, i am 17, so all of my actions and decisions are pretty much still controlled by my mother, so i have little to do when i need to get something big. i currently have a blazer, but want to sell it to get a 240 very very very much and my mom seems to not care about it. the title for the car is under me and my moms name, and she refuses to let me sell it to get the car i really want. i recently found a 240 in GREAT SHAPE for only 1500 but my mom still wont budge...do any of you have any ideas of how i can get her to change her mind about me having a 240? it depresses me to see 240s out there on the road, in magazines, on tv, and on all of the videos i watch. again, do any of you have any information or any ideas as to how i can get my mom to change her mind to let me sell my car? thanks for your help (sorry for writin so much)

Only thing you could really do is keep talking to her about it. It's still going to be up to her to make the final decision on selling the Blazer. Ever thought of keeping the Blazer and saving money up yourself to buy a 240?

Well, lets see................
1. What year is your blazer?
2. How much is it worth? (blue book value)
3. 240's are an investment, i love them, but they can get problematic sometimes.
4. Whats the gas mileage like on your blazer?

240sx if you properly maintain it (tune up, fix broken stuff as it comes up etc) can get up to like 29-30+ mpg. I've made it 475 miles on one tank on pure interstate. The s13 only has a 14.9 gallon tank=31.9 mpg. That would be a good arguement to show her.

Yeah... just don't talk about how fast it is or how much fun it will be to drive. Just tell her about how much better MPG it gets than your Blazer and how it would be easier to drive and keep control of because its smaller.

I agree with s13 240, just bug her about it all the time and she will probably give in eventually.

talk about the risk of flipping your blazer maybe due to its high center of gravity?

well, first... what are her reasons for not selling it?

Blazer vs 240

Where do you live? I doubt anywhere that you would need a suv like a blazer, its alot bigger so more likely you'll be in a accident, she cares about your saftey rember.

well, she doesnt want me to sell it cause a friend sold it to us n she doesnt think theyd like me gettin into cars even though i talked to the guy about it cuz she was gettin so worked up over it...and that she doesnt want to make any financial decisions right now.....

i live in sacramento an i dont really have any reason to have an suv cause i dont carry anything an my mom has one if i need anything transported (we never use mine for transporting anything) ill use safety next time i talk to her cause i read that 240s had better crash test ratings than blazers

thats a good idea bout makin a deal...i was just thinkin the other day what i should say to make a deal with her so i can get a 240

thanks again for all your advice...well see what my mom says next time i ask her about it...she seems to be movin to my side about it

bb value is $4815 and the car you want is $1500?

I'm sure if you told her she could keep the rest and redo the bathroom she'll go with it lol

i know how you feel about your mom not letting you get one. thats how my mom was a first. and now shes like that about me putting stuff on my car. when i first got it i wanted to take of the spoiler, she said it would look ugly because of all the holes, it took like 2 months of bugging her to let me take it off. and now i gotta bug her even more about letting me spray paint the rims black, lol.
