well, personally, i woulda steered clear of rust, and also, next time support your car from the chassis, not the floorboard

that not a critical part of the car. put some sheet metal on it and move on. guess im a lil harden.

its like a guy who comes off the football field becuase someone stepped on his hand..... hmmm ok... get back in the game and suck it up...

your find bro.

I'd say it depends on how bad the rest of the chassis is rusted. Check out the entire underbody and frame and see if it is even worth fixing. It may end up being a bigger task than its worth.

i'd say get rid of it if it has too much rust. but it depends were the rust is. like biggamehit said if it's not on a critical part sheet metal it.

remember that this car should be safe to drive, you don't want to spend a lot of money on something that will literally brake down while driving it.

^^^agreed. you can weld in new sheet metal in badly damaged areas (floorboards.etc) and if the rust isnt too bad you could always sand down and use a rust preventive/sealer paint like POR-15. I really like that product as it really helps keep the metal free of corosion, if properly applied.

oh my god, pics if the rust is bad enough to go through the frame (which is still astonishing), ditch the car

alot of the east-coast winter cars, or cars that spend time in the snow usually have some rust damage. I think its just normal especially with all the salt on the roads after clean-ups. get those pix up so we can have a look see
