Its all good now but it was some scary stuff at the time.

Exactly the same thing with me man but my sunroof just shattered instantly left the hinges there but no crystal, I was going 60mph but I didnt lose control and I didnt get scared but Like I said I got .

Damn guys thanks alot for all the concern and replies that cheers me up

Well Got to work on the car took out the seat and cleaned up ALOT OF GLASS!!!! Got at least 5 crystal splinters in my fingers but I got it done and then removed all the upper moldings and roof upholstery and started doing the body work and that was yesterday and today at night I just completed the body work and its the first time I ever done it.
Here is what a Did
1. With a jack and a long 2"x4" I jacked it up to the sun roof frame and lefted it up to about right but then there where a bunch of bad dents everywhere.
2. Bought a grinder and grinded off all the paint on the dents.
3. Alot of feathereding(my thumbs feel like there going to start bleding).
4. some crappy body filler and alot of sanding it looked bad.
5. I had to get some glaze and to all you DIYselfers!!!! BUY GLAZE!!! APPLY IT AFTER THE METAL/FIBERGLASS FILLER!!!!.
It turned out soooooo smoooootthhhhhh.
6. Oh and I bought some self adheiseve bondo pads and all you have to do is peel of the back and place it over the hole and metal filler over it and it turned out nice seeing as my roof had 2 very not visible rust holes so I just took advantage of the situation and I fixed it.
7. More feathereding(It is so horrible but it has to be done).
8. Finally primed it and wholah it is a roof again.

pics of the final stage except its not sanded primer I leave that b4 paint.

Nice body work!!! I agree 100% with **** the body shop. I have never taken my car to a body shop. It is more fun to learn and do it yourself. Mad props to you on a fine job for the first time

Holy smoking, you are the man! That's darn good for a first time DIYer! I really should spare some time from work to do the body work myself since mine is nothing compare to what you had worked on...

It looks nice. ...and YES people CAN do their own body work...BUT it WILL look different with paint. Primer CAN be deceptive. Glossy paint won't hide your flaws like primer will.

Don't worry there are no flaws, I went over and over with my hand and lined it all the best I can with my eyes and it is good. I did alot of feathereding!!!

Put a goat of glossy paint on it and you'll see things you can't feel or see in primer. Believe me, I DO body work now and then.

Usually when I am on a project I will through a coat of spray paint on it just to see better what I have done.....sand THAT down and reprime.

Why can't I do it write the first time???
I put the primer on cuz it was a 2 in one Primer/sealer and I need it seeing as im not painting it right away, I didnt spray it until I saw that it was perfect.
I got a new sunroof and it fitted like a glove.

I block sanded the glaze until it was leveled and my friends cant even find where I had bondod it cuz it is so seamless.

gladhatter Why are you raining on my parade man??? I agree 100% that dont count on primer to hide anything cuz I learned that the first time I sprayed it over the bondo and I could still see fine scraching and I had to go out and buy Glaze to get it really smooth and rid of those damn pinholes that appeared alot.

But I do have one question gladhatter Im worried about the primer I mean will the new paint cover over the grey primer??
Its supposed but it just worries me how has it turned out 4 u?

It shouldn't be a big problem. The problem would be if the primer is significantly different from the primer on the original paint (if you are trying to match it up)
