New Insurance Changes for California PPL
New Insurance Changes for California PPL
In case any of you get any cute ideas of trying to drive without insurance here in CA, there have been recent changes and a huge change coming effective October 1st 2006.
Jan 1, 2006,
All Insurance companies are now required by law to report whether your car is insured to DMV which means no matter who your agent or broker is, it has to be reported.
July 1, 2006,
Now all law enforcement and courts have access to your insurance records with DMV to see whether your car is currently insured.
October 1, 2006,
By law you now have to have insurance to keep your registration current, your insurance company/agent will transmit your insurance information to DMV/law enforcement and courts, effective immediately any car bought, new or used, you must provide proof from day 1, if you now decide to cancel your insurance DMV WILL SUSPEND your registration and possible fine or penalties if you fail to provide any current proof of insurance.
No more loopholes to the system and less people driving without insurance on the road, just the way it should be.
If you guys don't believe me here is the link
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/otherser/eir/man_ele_rep.htm for the regulation
and
for the complete list of regulations as I mentioned
