I don't think the KA24DE is being used anymore here in the U.S.

A quick search online showed that the last time they used the KA24DE was in the 2002 Nissan Frontier XE... last I could find of the engine in a RA, that is. I think the engine lived in the Altima base models until 2000 or 2001, but in FWD configuration.

Your best bet is to find a good-condition KA out of q 98 240SX. You'll also need some luck, heh

here is what i have found as far as new motors go...
http://www.rpmrons.com/Nissanengines.html
this is the cheapest i have found with no core charge... in both long and short block motor assemblys...found tons of used motors but the milage is questionable...

awsome... but from my research i've done (haha little but some) resleeving your engine is almost as good as putting in a new engine? is that true what are the advantages?

you would have to rebuild the engine if you were to resleeve it. so it would be a new engine. anyone that would resleeve an engine and toss the old internals in is in for a rude awakening. as for the rpmrons.com im pretty sure those are rebuilt engines. raceeng.com has rods and pistons for 1149.00 if you looking to rebuild with stronger internals. they were crower rods and wiseco pistons comes with rings wrist pins ,etc...

on rpmrons.com, ka's are about $1500 but for a few hundred dollars more an sr can be bought complete. id been wanting to go the ka route but it's hard to find a used ka for less than a grand. im planning on rebuilding the motor anyway so the condition doesn't matter much-as long as the block doesn't have a hole in it or something. more research for me!

shhhhhhhhhh... never give away a secret... lol... not too far from knoxville raceway... i found it on accident...i have not checked out the motors yet but from what he says he has 5 or 6 that are worth a **** and a few that aint... we will see... from what him and i have talked about he has at least 2 300z cars there as well could be twin turbo models??? dunno yet... will find out when i go up there next weekend...only reason im not saying where it is,,, is because im gettin a few cars from there and i dont want them to wander off befor next weekend... if all goes well this will be the start of a new import shop here in knoxville...
good news for honda owners as well... he says he has vtec motors sittin around too ... i will find out and if it all pans out i will make sure you get the same deal as i get...just gimmie a week and i will let ya know all the details...as well as make sure that there is a good motor left just for you... and by good i mean ready to run with no rebuild needed...one week is all i ask... lol..

hard to find a used KA for under a grand? They usually go for $200-$400 in the for sale threads...
