Okay i've all but had it with montana. there is one aftermarket shop within 200miles. The worst part is they jack up costs because they know their the only ones around that offer any type of services...body kits, lowering, custom paint...etc. So i've decided that its time to open my own, with about 5 friends. So what i want from you all is ideas as to what i need to offer the consumers? we already plan on having a paint booth, fibrerglassing area. I also want a lift and a pit. Also been tossing the idea of a Dynojet.(there is only one in the state). So what do you guys think, if you went to a tuner shop, what would you want?

 

Not to crush your dream, but maybe theres not a shop around for 200 miles because theres no market for it. But if youre really serious then right on dude. Also, what about car audio?

 

You're going to need some ASE certified machanics, nobody wants to take there car to a shop that doesn't have a good machanic.

 

just make sure you know what your doing first. like bucket 240 say you need ase certifed technicians. not just your freinds. a shop, lifts, a way to order your parts( you need connections lol)the knowledge of running your own business, . lol a lot to know, i wouldnt ever want to open up a shop. sure it would be cool in your dreams lol. way to much work.

 

you'ld end up making more money opening up a retail shop, selling wholesale cars parts/accesories. Since there isn't anywhere else to go , you'ld end up making more money-don't worry about the repair/fabricating part of the dream.

 

thats kinda wat i was thinkin, SR, an maybe some light fab/body work such as paint and body kits/ wheels an such. I think being tha only supplier in tha area would bring in some cash. i kno that the market is here ry, its just everyone around here has to go to spokane or mail order, and/or it themselves.

 

common things: trouble shooting, bolt on installations, basic maintainance, wheel/tire

 

no don't go for paint- it has a high start-up and i gaurantee you that you wouldn't be able to low-ball your prices enough to compete with a maaco or economy paint/body shop. also, installing other people's body kits is a nightmare. -they always have something "wrong" with them.
