Oil and Gforce hhmmmmmm
Oil and Gforce hhmmmmmm
Sup yesterday i was talking to my sponsor and i told him that i happen to go through 2 KA motors in a year. I told him i practice drifting alot ( rain most of the time). There were a few time i over revvvved a bit while trying to learn my foot technique. He bought up a good point that i understood fully but never thought of.
he said while the car is sideways for long periods of time the oil can shift to one side of the motor and simulate not having oil in the motor and creating high friction. I threw a rod both time by the way ( high revving as vinne said). To solve this problem i figur i can get a deeper oil pan and get a gforce oil pump which i found out is produced in the market
Has anyone heard of it and or have any comments about it.
ps check this link i pulled it from google a pretty revelent article is in thereOil and Gforce

Other than that you wont find a flap catch system for the oil pan itself, mostly only found for V8's such as the Moroso oil pan catch for extreme G force use.
If you open up the pan you can infact weld and modify a flap that traps the oil at the lower half of the oil pan, so the engine can pump the oil.........
If you want an example of how to do it yourself, look through the dimequarterly a bunch of old schoolers with KA's and L series do it......

This is what you really need........ Butt eh they don't make it for KA but you can fab your own....... Moroso does sell an oil pan baffle kit in this article that works for any make and model vehicle.....

What you can do is add an oil cooler kit also this will add 2 more quarts of oil to your engine and have it run cooler, the additional oil to the system should help prevent from a bone dry engine.....
I found out through my R&D the RB cooler kits work the best for KA, CA, and SR.....

There ya go everything ya need...........
Technically the oil baffle kit adds 3 more quarts, the cooler adds 2, the reservoir catch system leaves the crap out, so you should have about 8 to 81/2 quarts of oil for the engine now.

OOps I almost forgot, if you want to go cheap, and don't want to add that extra 1/2 quart of oil, switch to redline, or any other synthetic oil for that matter. It actually retains better long gevity than regular oil, and you can use it in case of G force situations......
Many people in the drift scene do it and it works wonders that regular motor oil cannot compensate for........
