Question what kind of oil/oil filter do you use?

i know its kind of a simple question, but what kind do you use?

do you believe that the more expensive brands are much more better than cheap brands (ex. advanced auto parts brand)?

are there certain brands you think are really good or certain ones you think are really bad?

i heard that Fram oil filters are a brand to stay away from because the top has a cardboard sealent ring that will break up and go into the engine... i've always heard good things about K&N though

I use bosch or purolator filters and mobil 1 oil. DON'T use fram filters, they have the worst filter materiel, the least amount of filter materiel, the weakest bypass spring, and the thinnest filter casing. They're just junk.

Use Amsoil, filter/oil, it is very good stuff, most stores don't even sell it. I believe it is a 1-2% hp gain, tested, if im not mistaken. Plus if you use amsoil you only have to change your oil once a year, its that good! But i would reccomend changing the filter after 4 months the first time, then annually after that!!!

I have a 1996 240sx 100,000+ mileage what would be a good type of oil to use for it example last time i used 5w30 and it was recommended by the ppl who i had them changed the oil. And they only went by waht i said about the car...that it was 100000+mileage and it was old.. Is there a better type of oil for my stock ka enging or is 5w30 all i need to really use. O and i cant use syntethic the mechanic said its only worth using synthetic on a car that started out with it during its younger stages like 20000mileage and below and sinse mine ran regular till now its good to stick to the non syntethic.... inless ya'll think diffrently please say so.
