oil/head

I have had a blown head ever since i got the car. Ever since I used 5w30 intstead of the recommended 10w30 the rattling fron inside the head has gotten worse which would made me think if I put maybe thicker oil in it like 20w30 it would make the rattling more remote. Would this be correct????

How bout you get it fixed and get the problem solved instead of trying to cover it up. It will just get worst

10w30 is much better for high milage (over 50k) than 5w30 is.

well i am pretty sure his 89 coupe has triple the 50K milage.. maybe more. so i would say fix the damn sucker and use 20w50.

i used 10w30 on my 227000miles 240... didnt sound good. next time i used 20w50 = worked perfect for me

I would stick with 10w30, maybe 10w40.

not to mension each engine has different wear. when i got my car w/ 35k on it, it seemed to run better on syntech @ 10w30, now that it's ab out to turn 100? i'm movin up to 20w & see how it likes it
