one stop place for stupid questions

ok so im working on getting this project together i have the car and i found an engine shop in north phoenix where i can get a complete sr20 setup for $1600. maf ecu wiring harness ingitor coilpacks all that junk. and i found a shop in town that will beat ANY price on almost any part so boom im pretty much set. now for the stupid questions.

first the ones i asked earlier. the how do i pass emmisions?
the where do i buy / have made IC piping? also with just a walbro fuel pump upgrade how much boost will i be safe with? and for that matter what are the stock boost levels? should i even touch the waste gate before i chip it or get injectors? and finally what temp thermostat comes in the sr20? and where can i get a cooler one? oh oh oh one last question. any suggestions on plug types / brands? and what the hell do i do to fenagle that engine into hookin up with the stock radiator?

aight so thats about it enough of the rant. and thanks to anyone who helps answer my questions.

(to to those who dont, screw you)

if you're talking about the S13 redtop and blacktop there werent that many changes, it was just a color change in the valve covers. if you're talkin about the S13 redtop and S14 blacktop the changes were that the S14 blacktop got a VTC which is like a variable valve timing and a bigger turbo.

Greenbacks make you pass. I don't even think you would pass if you were to run bone stock.

Check any local performance shops. See if they have a mandrel bent piping. That will help alot. There is also ebay.

emissions

you will pass emissions easily. the jap specs are strict. so much so that they force owners to replace engines after only about 3 years or 50k miles. or thereabouts (thence creating the whole gigantic aftermarket JDM engine warehouses). what you may fail is the visual. like the other guy said, greenbacks will make you pass. you gotta know someone who knows someone.

you may especially fail the visual if your engine is "sexed up." despite the awe factor, shiny hoses or covers or 'race' looking components will further raise an eyebrow and perhaps enable further incriminating scrutiny. if you are going to go the SR route, which i will do eventually, too, try to make it look like a "sleeper." do not help them to f*ck you. keep things flat black and factory dull.

another quick thought

also, since psychological warfare does work, as people are entranced by subtleties, show up at any inspection station with factory base-model wheels. perhaps even duller ones than what came with the car if necessary. nothing immediately alters a car's appearance more than changing the wheels. and have your mom or grandmother or a hired older woman or someone else drive the car there with you. or in your behalf. and put a front plate on the car that reads "jesus." or something innocent-looking. like a unicorn. that will throw off any suspicion of the SR lurking there.
