Unhappy problem here :(

ok heres the story,

yesterday i put the battery back in my car but i made a *spark* and thats it ! so i started the car, start fine but absolutely no electricity in the car, lights, heaters , gauges...... so i pop the hood and looking in the fuse box , theres a big black fuse with 75A that is burned!
my Q is do u think my problem is simply this fuse ???

thx to answer

Well generally a blown fuse should be replaced once the cause of the blow has been corrected, so maybe you should replace it like ASAP. Check the rest of the fuses in the car while you're at it, but unless you liked how "it" made a spark and you repeated it to have 4th of July under your hood, the other fuses should be fine.

thats most definately your alternator I reckon. And it shouldn't have cause any damage, the fuse is there to prevent too much electricity from going through it, which is why the fuse melted. You're planning on running it this winter when it's in storage right? If you don't replace that fuse, the alternator won't work and it won't charge the battery up like it should, and when the car is on it'll totally run off the battery and not the alternator.

Sorry dude it did make sense. Get a fuse and replace it.

If it pops check lines on the side of the circuit that is not fused. If it was on the fused side one of the smaller ones would have popped because they are more sensative because they are smaller
