Question About Resonated Test Pipe

Is anybody out there currently running a resonated test pipe on their KA? How much did it quiet it down? I am considering driving it to Florida but I won't be able to put up with that loud *** exhaust at 3k rpms for 24 hours.

Damn, I feel dumb for not having thought of that lol. It's going to be a grueling 1250 miles, unless I get an additional resonator welded in there or something.

the test pipe will still be loud, a high flow is a bit quieter. what i've heard is even quieter is a gutted cat with a pipe inside the cat but with many many small holes drilled in it. which is what a resonated test pipe is but i've heard this homemade one is quieter.

except for being a badass.

Maybe I'll get one of those Moroso twisty exhaust silencer things, or another resonator welded in. Any other suggestions?

i was thinking about getting those as well.

but damn, they are expensive.

its wayyyy cheaper to buy 3 flanges and a summit brand muffler.

i have a projectnissan resonated test pipe on my car and it did a quiet it down slightly. do you not have a silencer for your muffler? that would probably be the best way to keep it quiet.

i agree.

if you dont have a silencer, ebay has a bunch, i got a couple off ebay. you just need to know the dia. of your muffler outlet.

I have a silencer but I took it off because it looks gay to death. It looks like a pinwheel in the exhaust. Even with it in it was loud as hell though. At 3k rpms the exhaust tone pretty much cancels out any conversation.
The moroso spiral muffler didnt seem to expensive to me.

the ones i have had are pretty damn effective. they dont have a spiraled look to them. i would just look for the 'normal' type with the one 1.5 inch outlet in them. the exhaust on my ka was loud as hell and with the silencer it was as quiet as stock. id check them out on ebay. or i probably have one that would fit your exhaust that you could have.
