Should i buy this 240sx or not

I have found another 240sx for sale, it's a black 91 no major dents and the paint is in pretty good condition for being kept outside for a long time (it has spider webs underneath the car). The stock engine doesn't work but the guy im thinking of buying this car from owns a shop and said he was going to swap the engine to a Sr20det and also do the s13 front end conversion. The car is getting detailed sometime this week and i plan on taking some pictures of it when it's done. He is asking $7000 for the swaped and converted car. What do you guys think of this price?

$7000

seem kinda high is that the price for the engine, the front end conversion and man hours. For the price sounds like he should also install a full body kit.

try and see if you can negotiate the price down a little..the car should be worth 5000-5500 after the swap and conversion

200,000 miles on the chasis. If i get him down to $6500 do you guys think i should go ahead and get it?

Oh yea he also said i could finance the car if that makes a difference

By the way he is also selling a 89 240sx fastbacj with the stock SOHC engine painted and everything for $2800. I was also considering this car.

if he can get you a full kit w/ respray... sr engine i'd say 6575. i wouldn't go any higher simply because after market parts to add true value to the car. they ar big bonuses but 200K on the chasis is nearing the end of what the stock car would have died at... 250,000K.

6500 is still a bit steep, but hey its your money..

the price he wants for that 89 fastback is very high too..ive seen fastbacks around here going for 1000-1500 for good condition
