silvia=hatch?

Hello all u 240 biased mf'ers
i thought i would ask your opinions anyway so here goes:

my friend is looking into getting either:
-89-94 silvia coupe imported from japan such as this one for example.

or a hatch, (possibly imported also), and turning it into something like this one.

he is torn between the two, looking at the pros we have:
silvia:stock sr20,low miles,RHD,possibly some extra aftermarket goodies.
hatch:stock b18(possibly turbo) low miles RHD also and possibly some aftermarket goodies, tons of parts out there, so basically the same as the silvia in that aspect.

cons:
silviaossibly beaten on and not taken care of(i guess this could go for either)
hatch:not RWD...hmm if u think of any for either post em.

Well either way I hope he doesnt expect to drive these things legally on the road Of course im going to be biased and say the silvia because of the RWD. But then again EGs are sex and I like them a lot.

Better question. What does he want the car for?

Re: silvia=hatch?

Damn boy, I sure do miss my EG-6. Had the same lip, same color, fiber hood, different headlights and stuck a LS/Vtec up in it and did some mid 12s. If He's looking for acceleration, The EG6 straight from Japan is a great choice! comes equip with the 1.6 B16A producing a 160hp thats bound to take him to the 14 second class stock!

The EG definately has more potential for acceleration only because of its weight and part availability. I would go with that and if he has the money, swap in a K20. Mmmmm.....

HOWEVER. There is nothing like being pushed by RWD. Fun in the rain

It depends what he wants. A steet machine thats fun to drive or a drag car with nearly unlimited potential.

Tell him to buy the Civic since it sounds like he knows nothing about 240sx's and he's importing to be JDM Tyte.
