Can i start by saying the Nissan Silvia is a RHD vehicle. the 240 is a LHD vehicle. They did not make any LHD Silvias as far as i know.....So for me that is the answer. ....And why if this is Club240, why is there a Silvia on the to of the page?

I never understood why people get so **** about the 240 not being RHD. People can call their cars what ever they want. Nobody has to convert their car to RHD just so they can call it a Silvia. If you wanted to get that **** then you might as well say that they have to cut out part of their right side frame rail because the silvia has only half a rail for the passenger, but then your car wouldn't be street legal so whats the point. Call it a Silvia if you want, hell at least it had the right engine right transmission, and for the most part the right chassis. It's better than riceboys putting "Accord type R" on thier cars. The Silvia did exist and if somone wants to make their a LHD version of a Silvia then they can call it a Silvia. As far as I'm concerned if it has fixed lights and an SR20 in a S13 chassis , or S14 chassis with an SR20 it's a Silvia. All the other differences between the cars are so meaningless that their is no point to recreating them. I'm not going to bring a passenger everytime I plan of going through a toll booth just so that some **** car geek will let me call my car a Silvia.

FYI my car is a hatch so it will never be a Silvia, but when I get my front clip I WILL call it a Sil80.

I meant to type RHD oops! There was never to my knowlage an Accord Type R in Japan. There was an Accord SiR, and SiR-T those may be what you are thinking about. I know 450 is a lot and if you consider drivetrain losses I'll need at least 520 at the crank. That is my ultimate power goal I know I'm not going to hit that anytime soon but I will eventually. Hopefully I'll be able to overbuild the engine so I have some head room. In a perfect world I'd be able to build the engine up to 600+ at the crank and then de-tune it to 450 at the wheels so that I'm not running the engie at it's limit all the time. Chances are I'll run it at half boost most of the time and then only turn it up to 450 when I need it. There should be no difference in power potential between the S13, S14, and S15 engines. If there is I'd gess that the S13 would make more power because of the higher flowing head.

you type too much, and i've seen an accord type r in yokohama. and i meant in the S13 chassis, that it is alot of power. why do you need all that power? for redneck racing?

If I find that the chassis is too weak for that kind of power then I can always add subframe braces, cross braces, et cetra. Are you 100% positive that the Accord you saw in Japan didn't just have some aftermarket emblem on it? I'm sure Type R is just as much of a catch phrase over there as it is here.

I don't NEED that much power...I WANT that much power. I could say I'm aiming to beat M's Factory's Silvia and go for 800 bhp, but chances are that would turn my car into a dyno queen. Plus if I was pushing the engine that hard it wouldn't last very long. 450 at the wheels is a nice number to me. It's plenty to out accelerate 99% of the cars on the street or track, and it's still low enough that I wouldn't be stressing the engine too much. The real questions are not "Why do I want that much power?", they are "Why wouldn't I want that much power?", and "Will I be able to put that power to the ground effectivly?". One thing you must realize is that I do not plan for my 240 to be a daily driver. I will buy another car, or a bike to drive around town. The 240 will be a pure track car by the time I'm done with it.

No I'm not going be "redneck racing". Unless of course you call SCCA rally, autocross, and touring car "redneck".

the accord type-r was (and still is) in production in japan and some countries in europe, including England at least.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on the Accord Type R. I had never seen one though so I was under the impression that the Accords were only SiR's. I don't have any pics of my car at the moment but I will take a LOT of pics of my engine install and Sil80 conversion. I should be doing that sometime in June or July if I don't run into any delays.

and VET, type r badges aren't as much of a fad is there as they are here. there isn't as much rice there rolling around, granted there is some, but not as abundant as there is here

Dude, you need to do some research before you post any more of "what you've heard" here. In this whole thread alone, there is so much misinformation I don't even know where to start.

Not to mention... Mind telling me what a "'89 RPS13 240sx" is? Besides being utterly redundant, if you have an '89 240sx, it's a RS13. 91+ would go for the RPS13.

...and let me guess, you don't even have a SR20vet. ...but you're getting one soon, right?
