it isnt expensive to uphold a 240sx. if you want the clean oem look and and great running car. Go fr the 240. i know for a fat bmw will be a pain to phold and in maintanence. Yet on a 240 it can be a laerning eperiance. You can start out with minor do it yourselfers and it will be fun. And if you ever wanted to put a little bow i=under the hood to make it look pretty and run smoother you can.

go for the 240 plu syou said it is tan leather, which is niice. It is auto???

Liike modest180sx said, the 240 will easily be cheaper to maintain than the BMW. Like most cars, if the car is properly maintained it will be very reliable. What type of E36 BMW are you looking at?

It all depends on how the vehicle was maintained in it's early life. I'd say even if it is a fixer upper, go for the 240. BMW's are well know for expencive maintenance costs, and I'd be willing to bet that if your going to do some 'Spirited Driving' you''ll probably have more fun in the 240.

There's also one HUGE plus with the 240 (the reason why I convinced myself to get one). Parts up the wazoo. Everyone and their mother makes aftermarket parts for this thing and there's so many on the road that if you need OEM parts those are reddily available too. If you blow an engine some how, you can even pick up a KA in good running condition for cheap 'cause everyone is going with the SR20DET setup.

Of course these are all just opinions, and asking on a 240 web site you're going to get biased responces .

man tose are kinda rare. reason i got mine is because they are so crapy that you spend half you free time fixin crap and it brings you closer to your car. also they do have alot of aftermarket parts for them and that they arerear wheel drive because we all know ff sucks

Well, I have an S14 so I can't speak for the reliability of the s13s, but I have heard they are pretty solid in general. I know someone with an E46 M3 and it cost him $1K just to replace his rear brakes!!! I also have heard that BMW doesn't publish FSMs, not sure if that's true or not, but if it is that makes doing your own repairs extremely difficult.

I would say the s13 but it also for me depends on the shape of both cars, but also the s13 will be ALOT cheaper to fix if somthing goes wrong, trust me my buddy has a e36 m3 and when it breaks it definatly breaks the bank aswell

the main thing that you need to take into cunsideration is the age of the car.

my '89 is not the best looking car on the street, but it is very reliable. with proper maintanance nissans last for ever, well not realy but they are very dependable.

another thing is the availability of parts. you can find most parts at any auto parts store. that's not the case with the bmw.

i have a 2000 jetta and while it's a nice car and i like it alot but i love my 240. i'll take a nissan 240, maxima or altima over just about any other car anyways.

you sure your not talking about an s14? ive never heard of a dark green, tan interior s13. anyways, theyre fun cars to drive and cheap to maintain compared to a bmw. id say go with the 240 unless your like 25+, than you should go with the bmw

most are pretty reliable. vehicle history is a huge variable as with any other used car.
