If you slap a turbo onto an sentra se-R engine, you would get a silvia engine? Does it work out like that?

Well not a silvia engine, but a SR20DET is what comes out of it. The SR's out from Brooklyn/Queens have a lot of JDM swaps and can basically wax any 240 out there. They are light and use the bluebird or GTi-R motor and they get moving. When we go to their meets they have a Redtop and everything man. Its a site to see and puts a fire under my butt to get thing moving with my own car.

no way. an sr20de has different internals, different materials, a different compression than the sr20det.

Well they might be different but the engines are probably capable of about the same hp. I think the 240 would be quicker due to better traction, but those sentra do move man. don't fall asleep on them.

I don't know. With the internals being different wouldn't a SR with a turbo from the factory have an edge on a SR-T? I would think that it would take to a turbo better seeing that it was original tuned for the rigors of forced induction.

well the sr20det factory style is probably better equipped for boost than a sr-t. But there seems to be many many more sr-t than sr20det out here. So I was just putting the warning out that most of us will get spanked by the sr-t if we didn't know that they are more willing to swap than we are. I guess its because they have a better foundation to work out of IMHO.
