im assuming u got a ka24e...if i were u id get suspension upgrades or something else with that money...or save up for a swap cause if u want power...eventually ure probably gonna be looking to swap or ka-t...

if ure just lookin for 5 or 10 more horses an intake and exhaust would do the trick for less then 1k

basic of the basic - lose weight. Dump the stereo, passenger seat, rear seats, the air resonator, the windshield washer fluid thing, etc. That's the cheapest (actually, free) way to get your car to perform better... but don't expect a miracle.

go to you local muffler shop and get them to make a straight pipe w/ two flanges on it to replace your cat that will free up a few hp that you should notice.

Well its not too bad. A K&N replacement filter is like ~$60, and with a JWT you get alot moe hp.

if u gonna buy the intake, buy the full cold air intake system. its like $150 on ebay.

buy the 3" catback exhaust. ebay - $200
loose weight. (not you, but the car)

try find the s3 cams.. i heared they work perfect with ka. but not sure

but if you really really want power.. get the sr20det front clip > flashoptions.com

peace

Well, with that much money you can get a KA24DE for cheap and work on that. You can get an Intake and prob some headers along with that to free up some HP from the DE.

dude I would just get a ka24de, buy a eBay megan racing 3" exhuast and ka24de intake then leave the rest over to buy a swap I guess, I want to go ka24de but I can never find one in my area when I have money.

That's pretty much the HP for any other intake. 5-10 HP is normal. Why spend so much on a JWT one? Might as well, just get a generic CAI and get about 12 HP more. Then again, it's only 4 HP more. Don't get too picky with intakes until it actually matters, and that's only when you turbo. I still say go for a newer KA24DE. Get rid of the SOHC and work the DOHC.
