so last week i changed my oil, oil filter, and valve cover gasket. and this week i hear this sound like popcorn popping under the hood. it sounds like it might be coming from the intake manifold area but i dont know, any help?

 

are you sure you got the right oil filter?

you might not be getting enough oil, causing your lifters, and chain tensioner to tick or pop in your case.

 

check your oil level, it is also possible that you accidentally dropped something under the valve cover without noticing.
