SR20 and KA Tachometer

Hey about to get my swap back....question on the tachometer.

I have the stock S14 back-lit cluster with the white faces that turn black at night....I really like it.

Obviously, this cluster is visually calibrated up to redline (6500 for KA).....

When the SR20 goes in, the tachometer will work obviously, because the KA I have is DOHC...

My question is, is the tachometer that I have VISUALLY calibrated to the SR redline of 7500.

In other words, when I am at redline with the SR, will the tach properly read 7500?

I only ask because you never know if the numbers are put on in the proper places on the tach, since the KA was only made to go up to 6500 anyway.

from my experience from me redlining my SR and being on the dyno, and of course if you got all the wires connected properly, it is accurate in RPMs, but the MPH is what I would like to question, the stock tach will go above the 6500rpms, from what I see, I never went over 7200 though.

You are saying you never revved to redline on the dyno then (you said you never went above 7200).

Why wouldn't the speedometer work....I thought there was a simple conversion unit that converts the kph signal to mph?

first run on the dyno was 7200+ rpms, after we looked at the data, it was useless to go above that(power dropped about 10-15 hp/tq). second run and 3rd, let off at 6800-7000(looking at the tach, and the dyno read the same rpms.
