SR20 Swap point?

Ok...I have wondered this for a little while.

Why do people swap their stock KA24 (2.4 liters) for a SR20 (2 liters)?

Would you swap a 12-inch hotdog for a 10-inch?

You swap the motor just for the turbo, or is there something else?

Turboed motor with smaller displacement over a more displacemnt with a $2,000 turbo kit that is batter than the stock SR20 turbo?

Wouldn't you rather spend less money, and have a larger motor, with a better turbo?

...???

some people do it so they can be cool and say i got an SR20,

Some do it because the SR is just a bad **** engine that is easy to get power out of,

the SR's bottom end is spose to be alot stonget then the Ka, and its stock turbo all you have to do is turn up the boost to get some decent power. If I were to swap engine I would rather do the RB25 swap. that is just my preference

Ohh, and the SR has an aluminum block that has to weigh a but load less then the KAs Iron block.

Please, please, please do a search. There has been numerous threads on this that go into great detail. Each engine is totally different and each one has their own pro's and con's over the other.

sr20 engines are easy to find...type in "JDM" on a search engine and multiple companies that carry SR'S will appear...i personally bought my SR at JDM engines corp.com
