Stalling

hey.. i have a problem

i was driving my 1991 240sx. totally stock.. kept in good condition..

i was giving it about 3/4 throttle through 5th.. got up to 90

let off the gas and it stalled.. tried popping clutch.. restarted but then stalled again.

Stopped the car.. tried starting it 5 more times but it wouldnt run. then left it alone for 5 minutes and tried to start it and it started up with no problem wutsoever.. like nothing had happened. I got it up to 90-95 again and didnt stall. Can you tell me if its a bad fuel pump or something else or just a fluke? has it happned to you also? if so what did u do. THANKS FOR ALL REPLIES

that was real helpful, sounds like a clutch problem or maybe something going on with your speed sensor, just throwing out some ideas, just think what would do that to you? think about what would make your car stall, bring it to a local shop and have them run a diagnositic check.

maybe it is a fuel problem... now this may not be the case on your car, im just tying to throw some helpfiul ideas out here. My cousin has a stealth TT, now when he gets up to like 120-130, he really leans out and it shows big time. some times it bucks and if he pushes it further it almost stalls. it sounds pretty similar to your problem, its pretty scary when ur goin that fast. he upgraded his whole fuel system, maybe all you need to do is replace the pump or the filter. are those still the stock units? if they are i'd start small before you do any expensive work. good luck man, i hope some of this helps ya out.

you got to go through the check list.
most bat 'nators so the ame thing.
agree or dis agree. if the car stalls after start up or is hard to crank thats one of the first things i check.
fuel all day. but no electric then no go.
a good suggestion
wrong or not thats what he asked for

WAIT!!!! before you replace your fuel pump check the fuel filter!!! so much easier and cheaper. i put in a new fp on my truck and all it needed was the damn filter! wasted time and money...so check that at least
batt/alt...that could def be it too...same thing happened to me at about the same speed. lost power/electric on the hw...a new alternator later and it turned out that something was not grounded. sometimes the smallest things are the cause of problems but we look at bigger components. i'd def have a look at the fuel filter though
