v. 1 crack in radiator oil burning bad gas milage / tune-up needed (spark plugs?) smoke when cold (if reved high) bad electronics cd player doesnt work.. adding.. purple buble tint t-boy and billy bob homemade paint job it eats anything liquid (oil, antifreeze, gas, tranny fluid (a lil')) fonky fender weird idle! (alot of people have that, mine may be the plugs) beat that. |

No engine.
The spare tire well is full of water from a leaking piece of weather stripping. Needs paint. Interior needs cleaned and the seats redone. No stereo or speakers. All that and it's now covered in bird **** from sitting in my driveway. Do i win? :dunno: |

(i dunno what the guy i bought it from was doen..) hubcaps dimples here and there paint chipping/peeling on most corners rust under paint (near sunroof) broken front passenger headlight faded/cracked front driverside cornerlight bad starter slipping clutch kinda hard sometimes to put in 1st gear and that damn 'AAA' sticker on the back i can never get off! FAWK YOU 'AAA' AND YOUR SO-CALLED 24/HR ROAD SERVICE!!:angry: |

i got 1 big dent from a run in with a stupid hit and run civic on my right front fender a broken antenna 3 of my 4 side marker lights are broken or missing my car doesn't like to go into reverse every so often i got my radio stolen the day i got my car my car needs a new engine and i need new wires other then that i get great milage!! oh wait did i tell you i drive to Vegas every month and i have NO AC!!!!! shoot me already |

Well, I have purple, bubbly tint
Ripped off spoiler broken antenna broken HICAS system axle boot gone tierods gone faded paint in front, fender, and 1 headlight paint chips everywhere leaking sunroof dents in rear quarter panel bondo and rust mixed nicely together in rear quarterpanel dings along both doors speedometer messes up in morning and night time only?!?!?! gas gauge is messed up between half a tank and a quarter of a tank smokes on start up smokes when idling bad gas mileage smells like ass in the back from spilt gear oil from an SR20 tranny clutch has about a week left on it valve cover leaks eats oil like a full course meal tranny grinds everygear starter sounds like a windup toy broken 3rd light (like ill need it anyways) The list would continue but then I would have to write a book.:( |
Alot of people are complaining about it being hard to get into 1st gear and reverse. For getting into first gear if your parked put it in other gears then into 1st, if your going just wait till the gears slow down. Reverse doesnt have syncros so you have to put in into another gear or maybe 1st go forward a little then go backwards. You all probably knew this though...

i think mine is pretty average.
lets see... cocked front end=hood/bumper/fenders dont line up amd front is still half primer bent driverside tierod custom T-top sunroof with really ****ty body work that leaks like a faucet mold on back seat floor from wet carpet(removed) power window buttons but has manual windows. power mirrors...sike., power mirror button. manual mirrors broken exhaust that bangs on my subframe my fenders rattle over bumps no dash lights what-so-ever blown shocks madd camber on my driverside rear wheel broken pass door handle pass door like to not shut all the way all the time i have the death rattle and for you guys with the pools in the hatches/trunks remove the 3 inch black round thing. the water will always drain out :thumb: |

oh yeah.. about the window thing... my driver's side power window.. when it goes all the way down.. it wont come back up until i keep playing with the switch.. usually takes about 30 seconds.. sometimes a minute.. so what i do to prevent this is to roll it down all the way and once it stops, immidately put it up a little bit.. not so much to where it shows but on the way up.. how ghetto is that?? :laugh:

things wrong with my car...
Had a bad tranny but not any more. there is a tiny ding in my hood that just pisses me off because i kno some little sh!t hole kid put it there with a rock when i was at my friends house. when the compressor is on it idles high making the car really load with the exhaut one leaky injector... Other then that my 240 is tight.. :thumb: quality car never beatin and old lady driven and nissan maintained means a reliable ride. :D |

Fist off it has an auto tranny valvecover leaks smokes when startup eats oil like a pig dent behind gas cap cover door dings all over the place from the damn idiots at school left brake light doesnt work sometiems (faulty wire i assume) upholstry is crappy interior smells funny rattles at any RPM above 2700 very little life left in my rear brakes when im in revers there is a grinding sound (i asssume its the bad rear brakes) and my water pump died |

some little high school prick jacked my 'nissan' emblem in the back (sep.15.2003).. i fixed it.. well.. doesnt look like there was a nissan emblem in the first place.. and i know this isnt something wrong with my car but i finally got that damn 'AAA' sticker off the rear bumper!! woo-hoo!! but my thumbnails hurt like a mutha trucka... :bigok:

well mines running prety good besides a few things wrong with it. heres my list:
1. threw a couple rods 2. half of the drivers side block is missing (cooling/ventalation?) 3. smashed up spark plug(smashed flush to the threads) 4. found piston ring laying in E-Bay 5. metal fragments in the intake 6. probobly a messed up crank, pistons, and god knows what else. ... time for a swap. :dunno: hey, i cant complain though. i got the car for 400$ in this condition, with a damn near perfect body &interior. :bigok: |
1. Needs major paintjob - lots of scratches, dents, dings, and a roof that feels like sandpaper
2. The common timing-chain-guide-making-noise crap - next on my list to fix 3. A/C doesn't blow cold when turned on and heater doesn't blow hot - the only thing that comes out is outside temperature air 4. Windshield has this one crack that is like perfectly aligned with where the driver usually looks forward 5. Is your power antenna broken? Mine isn't even THERE. All I have is the hole. 6. Speaking of, there's like 3847297843 holes in the trunk from previous owner's rear wing experimentation (thus part of #1 above) 7. Drop drop drop oil spots in my garage 8. Needs a new steering wheel - if I grip the top part long enough, parts of it will magically stick to my hand 9. I own a 95 Zenki, so "naturally" my headlights are yellowish during the day. 10. Moonroof has a 1/4" gap in the rubber moulding that lets rain drop perfectly centered onto the armrest in the center console. 11. Clutch pedal is squeaky 12. Spare tire wheel is yellow (to match the headlights?) Wait - that's normal. Nevermind :p ...did I mention, I love my car? :thumb: |

Rip in leather backseat. Rear defroster doesnt work. Antennae grinds for first 15 secs when turned on. Rear wiper malfunction (removed). Splashguards under engine torn. Things wrong but not really: Automatic seatbelts. 4-lug. No LSD. Needles are not red. Headlights sorta suck. License plate holes in bumper. Happy to say engine is running strong with no problems. |
now that i have a 240:
1. two huge, gaping holes (along w/lotsa dried glue) in the hatch from where the spoiler flew off 2. missing passenger's side mirror (not the whole housing, just the mirror) 3. climate control fan not blowing (ac compressor comes on, but nothing coming through the vents 4. tips rusted and fell off of stock muffler 5. only has 2 out of 4 wheel covers 6. windshield cracked 7. "stock" torn driver's seat 8. glove box handle broken; glove box won't open 9. console lid missing 10. shifter boot pretty much toast 11. "stock" broken cruise control (not like i use it ;) ) 12. nice fat crack in dashboard 13. trunk lever (by driver's seat) doesn't open the hatch 14. one of the washer fluid nozzles is missing 15. headlights squeek when going up and down 16. rear wiper dead 17. gigantor dent by the fuel door 18. one of my two keys don't work period 19. rotors are sh1t; when brakes are applied, car can damn near shake itself apart 20. paint is faded beyond repair i can go on, but i think i made my point. regardless, i still love her just the same.:D |

Hatch won't pop (Don't know how to fix) Front end not aligned properly (probably because I have a 92 front bumper on a 90 240) Color coding problems (for reason mentioned above) Bumper has a hole burned in it from the exhaust backfiring and heating Slight Smoke (might be because of a head gasket??) head lights wont go down but will go up (:dunno: ) head lights aren't aligned/cannot be aimed properly Cigarette lighter has gone popola Idle acts up when cold Other 240 owners don't like the fact that I have '96 seats and a '92 front end on my 1990 240:D If it can rattle, it will rattle. Drifting has caused an unbalance in the: steering column, rear pass. side tire, tie rods etc. Can you say 200130 Miles!!!!!!!! That's about it, not too much, mostly just anal crap considering that 99.99 percent of SOHC engines are swapped out. |

1990 5SPD Nissan 240SX.
Oh man.. this is going to get long and ugly. -ridiculously dirty engine, engine bay -Peeping check engine light (comes on for 5 minutes and goes off, occasionally. Checked codes, MAF + Leaky Injector. intermittent problem, most likely circuit/connection problem) -Loud Valve/Lifter tick on what seems to be 2 or 3 valves. -Overheating problem (previous owner replaced headgasket). Could be radiator or thermostat+waterpump -Missing 2 exhaust manifold bolts -Horrible Horrible GAS mileage. (200 miles per tank city driving) -Missing under-engine splash guard -Weird Cold Start warmup idle. Weird cold idle (when it's raining or really really cold) - slow starter (not too bad.. it cranks and works) - slight popping noise from exhaust (backfire, but without the flame) easily heard/seen when revving in neutral -Tapping throwout bearing, worn clutch -Loud Clunky messed up open differential -Won't go in reverse sometime (could be clutch slave cylinder) -squeaky clutch pedal -clicking strut tops -Torn CV boots (which might be causing that suspension clicking noise when i turn my steering wheel all the way to the right or left) -Surface rust in interior under peeled paint (spare tire wheel well area) -Surface rust on H-Frame nuts/bolts -Real Rust on one headlight bracket (no big) -Hatch HISSSSES at high speed. Anything good out of this outcome? - I paid $1600 (IN SOCAL) - it runs.. valve tap won't kill the motor for a loong time. (don't want to spend $$$ on lifters. they cost about the same amount as a used SOHC) - Clean clean white paint on EXTERIOR only =P - New brake master cylinder, headgasket, fairly new brake job, fairly new tires (lots of tread). all came with car. oh and a free Pioneer DH-1600 headunit wheeeeh -Black Rip/Tear-free dash -i got fed up after 7 months of searching and finally found one. That is all. thank you. |
