Think I will pass emissions?

ok here is my deal, I live in Atlanta, own a 96 240sx w/ hotshot headers which removed the 1st cat. I relocated the 2nd o2 sensor behind the 2nd cat (which wasn't empty, I looked into it)... but my engine still throws a code at me after I have reset it after relocating the sensor... I was thinking, since I can reset the ECU and eliminate the Check Engine Light for anywhere about 30 min to 1 hr. or even more of driving, I can reset the ECU the night before, then drive to emissions shop and pass before the light comes on again. Which brings up another question, does the fact that there is no CEL on indicate that the computer still thinks there's nothing wrong? If SO, then hypothetically I can "pass" emissions.

I was thinking of clearing the code and driving up to Autozone and tell them to check my car with their free OBD II exam and see if it'll throw a code on theirs... if not, and IF their OBD II diagnostic computer is the same as the emission place's... then there's hope for me??

I don't wanna spend $150-200 and get an aftermaarket cat that might even beed custom fitting...

Are there any other options for me?

well, that is an interesting situation, but i will remind you that OBD2 inspections were designed to keep cars like yours from passing inspections. If you had a 95, you'd be in good shape. But about the light, if the light kicks on before or during the inspection, you'll fail. Good luck man.

;[ the only contact I have so far
is quoting me $125 for an "exam." For a little bit more on that price I can get a random tech. cat and pas w/ flying colors.

Well try the OBD...If u dont pass it then go for the car and pass with flyin colors. Crooked smoggers are the best friend with people that have swapped engines
