times...
the civic si does hav a better powerband...240's power will drop down like crazy after 6kish rpm while b16's (si motor) hav a redline at 8k rpm and can be easily reved to 8300 rpm stock..the 240's torque will let it get off the line and get the launch but hondas are high revving motors..they usually play "catch-up"
gearing also plays a big role...i'm not sure wat the KA's gear ratios are at, but the si's have one of the shortest gear ratios made by honda/acura which help in acceleration
btw a 92-95 hatchback will not even be close to 13's with a b16a...more like high 14's...but if he were to swap in a h22a..thats a whole different story

i dont think so azian
a 92 civic will run mid 13's with a b16a most definitly not high 14's
it runs a 15.5 with 125hp and 90-sumthin tq... lol.. so with 160 111 it will run a lot faster
even thogh its only 35 more hp and 21 more lb ft... its because of weight.. it sucks but its true.. lol

the only way u'll hit 13's with a stock engine is if u put in an h22a
btw it won't suck if it DID hit 13's with a stock b16a motor..hondas will finally get the respect they deserve (i noe i'll get flamed for this but i don't care) but unfortunately they dont

I have to agree with you on that. At first I actually thought it was a big POS. Until I finally read about them. From what I read they DEFENATELY do not get the respect they deserve. (i quiet bashing them even though its hella funny.
) (even though I know its not extremely cool to make fun of them and then go and then end up getting an **** whipping from them
-------- which probably happens more than any thinks at least for me rof)and to tell you the truth from what I read I think my next car will be a civic.
that superhonda link didn't work btw.
What's so good about the h 22? What are the specs? 13's on stock motor?

the link is www.superhonda.com..sorry about the world wide web part...
the h22 is a 2.2L prelude engine which makes 200hp and 154tq (pretty sure on the torque..somewhere around there though) it will bring a civic down the 1/4 mile in 13's but will NOT bring a prelude down there stock...preludes are heavy *** cars which weigh very close to 3000lbs...put the h22 in a lighter car and u get a fast drag car...but becareful bcause u'll be moving from a 1.6 liter to a 2.2 liter which will create lots of understeer if the suspension isn't tuned properly
the great thing with hondas is that you can mix and match different engines and transmissions together and there's alot of possibilities and motors out there...for instance, a b18b transmission will bolt onto a b16a motor so u can hav the high revs of a b16a with the long gears of a b18b(for highway use)
btw...if ur going to get a civic i suggest u get an si or atleast go f/i or an engine swap on one of the ex,dx, etc. lower models...they will feel like slugs compared to your 240 but all cars have there own potential...there's a guy on the website running 11's boosting 16lbs on a rebuilt sohc and i believe its street legal also
btw...if ur looking to sell you 240 anytime soon juss say the word..im in chicago looking for one =)

Alright. I own an Si and if you ask me they are nothing special. They are fun to drive with the high redline and everything but there is NO TORQUE. As far as racing them up hill just put an extra person in the civic and it won't move anything close to what it does with one person. It is ridiculous how much of a difference it makes with just that much weight. Just to clear things up when my car was stock I ran 15.7 and with i/h/e I ran a 15.0 flat but it was too cold to get good traction so it could probably get around 14.7 or so. Without torque the car losest a lot of potential and this is why I am making my way towards the 240's.
those are good times for a simple i/h/e setup...but i guess it really comes down to preference...to me i'd rather hav a high revving engine (and i agree that a civic si is nothing special) but if ur going to get a civic, then u mite as well get the top of the line civic
at first i was going for a crx with a b16a swap but i wouldn't hav as much handling as a 240sx...to me handling comes first but speed can be more important to others

yea the civic si might be a good car to get if it wasnt such an ugly car
, lol anyways i dont like hatches or the dashboard mounted gearbox for that matter. The only honda i like is the civic hybrid, only for the 46mpg city tho
