They are up here. As I said earlier, I've never even seen another zenki in person. Just a few for sale online, and they come up very rarely. Besides, I really want a kouki, but I can't afford it. Not to mention they're even more rare. I'd actually prefer an S13 hatch over a zenki...but all the ones I've seen here are trashed out. I would keep looking for a while, but I'm carless right now, and kind of need something by the end of next week.

To silviak: I'm pretty sure it's a 4-lug. The wheels aren't the standard 5-spoke rims found on the SEs anyway. The car's just sitting right at the seller's work now, which is close to my house, so I'll go check later on.

What, the gold one? It's a base model...none of the ones I've looked at were SEs.

I guess what I wanted to know when I made this thread is, how much over the kbb price is TOO much? I'm going to look at this black '96 SE, which is going for $6200:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=15

KBB "excellent" private party value for that car is only $5375. And "good" valu eis only $4950. That's nearly a grand higher. Is that really acceptable?

I wouldn't pay more than $4K for it, only because of how many miles on it. 240 or not.. that's still alot of miles. I would pay no more than $3.5K. That's just me though.

Do you ever check craigslist.com ???? They have the crackhead deals on cars. Forget about that guy and keep searching, dont go out there and buy the first car you see. Trust me "good things come to those who wait". I can say that because I got my zenki for 1500 and there is hardly anything wrong with it. I waited a year after I sold my s13.

I check craigslist all the time. In fact, I came upon the red 240 from craigslist. However I was expecting him to back down off the price. Tomorrow I'm going to look at that black car, and a white '95 SE with an SR20 swap for $7500.

I bought my Kouki for 10k. It was owned by an older lady who was married and finally bought herself the M3 she's always wanted. It was her commuter car. Everything was in very good shape before I got it.

It's running fairly well now, we'll see how long this will last. Yikes. I love my car to death though.

Well, I've driven a lot of cars in the last two weeks, and in the end, I've decided that I only want a 240. Depsite driving several other cars and liking them (a BMW 325is, and a Miata) I've already got my mind made up. Today I drove that black '96 SE w/ 112k miles. I don't know why, but I feel confident driving these cars. They have a lot of character. And the styling of the zenki reminds me of the RX-7 FD, which I've always wanted. Ultimately, I think I will end up buying a kouki off eBay and having it delivered here. (Since there are none around here and I doubt there'd be any for sale soon.) I have my qualms about buying a car without driving it, but if I don't like it, I can always resell it, and probably for more money than I paid.

Argh WTF. It seems that low-mileage 240s are extremely hard to find without having the price be super inflated. At this rate, I may just buy that black SE. The only thing stopping me from buying it right now is that the seller was pretty firm on her $6200 price tag. As I recall, she was in "no hurry" to sell it. Even though she was apparently about to buy another one. For reference, here is the car again:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=15

It runs and drives great. But there are a few issues that would make me want to pay less. Such as the fact that the muffler knocks if you don't shift right, because it wasn't installed properly. And it needs new shocks...they squeak. And the cosmetic blems...both headlights are cracked and are highly fogged. A cheap fix, but still. The only reason I'm considering buying this car over the red one is because it doesn't need any major repairs, and it's an SE with ABS and LSD. Bluebook value for this car is only $4890...is it really worth it to pay that much more for a car that I like?? I can't decide...
