True monetary value of a zenki today...?
Haha. Yeah, I'll probably ask for $5750. But really, I can't wait to buy a car. I commute to work, and I'm going to need a car within the next couple weeks. There are some nice S13s for sale here...but driving them isn't the same. I don't know what it is about the S14s, but there's something in them that I just identify with. I can't quite explain it. My stepmom, however, thinks they're quite ugly, and doesn't have any idea why I'd buy one over a 325is. And since I live with my parents for now...that could be troublesome. Ah well. When it comes to a decision like this, I'll get what I want, and that's that. I don't want to buy another car I won't be happy driving.

Ok question. I'm thinking I might buy that red 240 (if the guy will come off the price) and do an SR or RB swap. The car already has 150k miles on it, which is kind of a lot. Do you think it'd even be worth it to do the swap on a car that old? Also, how long do you think the stock motor will go before needing rebuilding? Don't get me wrong, I like the KA motors, they're cool because they're torquey. But to me it's still a truck motor, and I think I'd like an SR20 better.
Ok, so here's the deal. Since there aren't a whole lot of S14s up here, it looks like I'm either going to buy that black car, or buy the red one with 150k on it. I'm trying to decide what to do.
On one hand, the black one is an SE with LSD (I THINK...is there any real way to tell?), but it had some issues. The motor made a whining sound at high RPM, and the struts squeaked. It also had a big gash in the hood and the front bumper was scraped. Also, the muffler wasn't installed properly, so it knocks if you don't shift right. An easy fix, but still. I pulled a carfax on it, and it was apparently a coastal car all its life, until it came up here. So that's not very comforting either. And, I'd have to wait until mid week to get it, whereas I could buy the red one right away.
On the other hand, the red one has way more miles, but it ran strong and looked clean underneath the car. Again, though, it does have some leaks. I'd have to change the water pump and front main crank seal right away. It does have strut bars installed, and has probably had the struts changed at some point, because there's no way this car has 150k on it and rides as well as it does with no noises. I'd also have up to $5000 to do whatever I wanted to it. But is it worth it to modify a car with that many miles on it?
What do you guys think? Bite the bullet and buy the higher mileage car? Or go with the one that's more expensive, but that will probably last longer?

they both dont sound to great, id get the se for the 5 lug and lower miles, but then again id go with the red since it seemed to have less problems..a well takened care of ka will last you over a beaten to **** one with lower miles..
if the shocks are blown to hell, and there is minor front end damage along with a weird sounding motor then the car was probably beaten to hell, if not "drifted" with...look at the tires and see if the insides are worn to hell..

The tires are brand new on the black car. But they don't really look like they belong on the car. They're not low-profile tires to speak of, probably something like a 60 aspect ratio. I'm not sure what's up with that. They are Fuzion HRi tires, and I've heard those are kinda cheap. I would just wait for a better car, but the thing is, I need a car NOW. Or at least within the next week. I commute to work, and I've been having a lot of trouble finding rides to and from there.
Edit: What I will probably do is buy the red car, fix it, and pocket the $5000 I'm getting from the loan I applied for. (This was when I was shopping around for more expensive stuff. I just found out today that I got it.) Then wait for something else better to come along, and sell the red car.
