i was stripping my 240 yesterday and came across a little gold boc under the center concle and was wondering what it is?

If its an s13, you may be talking about the auto seatbelt computer...hard to tell without pics or a better description.

 

i dont know what it is. im stripping mine down to i had to cut some of the wires to move the wires around and when i unpluged it my dashlights and the radio didnt work any more.

does it control anything else or can i rip out the harness that goes to it to?

 

i'd think that you'd be ok if it were remvoed and being that it it not conected to the engine control mod. there shouldn't be any problems if you removed it.

i dodn't know how removing this would cause the radio and dash lights not to work. when i first got my 240 the dome light, radio, clock, and a few othere things didn't work. the wires had been cut so i had to fing out what wire did what and never did i bother with the seatbelt comp.
