Cool What do do w/ my cheap 240sx?

Hi all,

Just netted myself an avg-condition '89 240sx that's got a couple oil leaks (h.gasket) but nothing major.

It cost me $700 for the car and I don't wanna spend $3000+ to swap out the engine.

Any ideas on some fix-ups that won't be too expensive relative to what I paid?

Thanks

if its the head gasket, go ahead and rebuild the top end of the motor. Have the head checked and everthing and replace the HG.

yeah head gasket changes arent a super pain in the neck on the KA motors and it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace that.

Furthermore, you might want to also replace any wear and tear parts since the car is 17 years old. As long as the motor is running sound and smooth, you will be able to enjoy the car.

Yeah, make sure the clutch is good, all the bushings are fine, check compression, etc. Do a good tuneup and run some seafoam through it and you should be kosher.
