I don't know if this is in the right section so if not, you can move it.

What is a good jack to get for auto work. I am looking at one similar to this but the one I am looking at has a bigger lifting plate.

Or I was looking at this jack.

Also, what jack stands would I need? How high do I need to car to be? I am looking at ones that have a max height of 21 inches.

The jack I am looking at is the same length as the second one. It costs $70. The 2nd one is $200. Is it worth an extra $130?

i work for sears so i know some **** on it... when i go in, ill look into further detail

for now, the red ones is aluminum (a lot lighter) and has a bigger lift base. the black one is steel reinforced and can lift more weight.

and knowing sears, you will have a better warranty with the red one

They still have a deal with the first one I posted but not with the one I want. The one I want isn't on the website.

The jack I am looking at in the store is also in the catalog. It has a part number of 0950186. In the catalog that also comes with 2 3-ton jack stands.

There is also another one like the $200 I posted. But it only lifts 3000lbs. I guess that is ok because I won't be lifting the whole car at once.

if you are going to lower your vehicle or put on aero you may also want to look for a low profile jack

^^^ I was thinking that but it would be cheaper to make wood steps to drive on and then jack it.

Where can I get a low profile jack?

Save your money with Wal-Mart jacks. Heck use the oem jack that comes with your car if you have to.
