Every ricer in the neighborhood always slows down to see what i have in the driveway.
I sold off a FD 2 months ago - that one made a few kids nearly wreck.

my daily driver is an 03 s10. i bought it for a DD and to carry around car parts. god i love having a pickup truck. 4.3 liter v6 with a 5 spd (drove an hour to find one in manual). it's a good truck but I only bought it because it was 7k cheaper than the Tacoma I wanted. it has the positrac rear end and ABS. exactly what i wanted.

some one mentioned using their s10 for towing. you CAN do it but pick up a fullsize if you're serious. towing is more about the weight of the car than the power you got under the hood. yeah a v8 swap could help along. but if you plan to tow a flat bed trailer with a car on it. you'll be right at the limit.

2000+ weight of the trailer, and 2500 or so for the 240. is a lot of weight. 5000 lbs is the rate tow capacity of the s10 with the 4.3 v6. but i think it weighs like 3700 lbs? uhaul won't rent a flat bed trailer to you cause the truck isn't heavy enough. i bought the s10 with same idea of towing, but it's much better to get a full size which is nice and heavy. last thing you want is to jack knife going down hill and on a turn. electric brakes on the trailer will def help, but then the added strain of all that weight on the v6 tranny is too much and then the doubled weight the brakes have to stop. get a full size. a little here and there is fine, but if you get serious about towing all the time seriously look at a full size. i'm thinking of selling mine and buying a cheap older full size.
