Wiring problem..I think

I'm Putting a ka24de out of a 92 s13 with an A/T in an 89 s13 with a M/T. I've got everything together and hooked up right (as far as I can tell) but the damned thing won't start.

I had to use the wiring harness out of the 92 and had to splice a few wires because of the plug from the engine harness to the main harness is different.

A friend of mine said he heard something about having to disconnect the Tach. Does that make any sense???

please help

You'll have to swap out the ECU as well. As the 89 was a SOHC, and the 92 is a DOHC.

You will need a tach from a DOHC cluster.

another problem i ran into that i forgot to mention is on the plug to the main harness that s different has some extra wires that don't go into the dual cam harness. I don't have my wiring diagrams with me but i remember one of the wires that i don't have hooked up goes to the AIV sol.(what in the world is an AIV solonoid?)
Those wires that don't go into the to the twin cam harness, do I need those to hook up to make the car run???
