Yes that car is DOHC. All Chuki (non-pignose) S13s came stock with a KA24DE89-90 is SOHC. 91-98 is DOHC. Heres pictures just so you know.

And my 80s 300zx automatic was beat to hell but that engine ran like a champ. Taken care of properly Nissans will run forever. I don't think you should have any specific terrible problems.

EDIT: Ryguy addressed the DOHC thing, so let me respond to the breaking down part. The 240sx will go as long as you take care of it, as is the case with most cars. Change the oil, don't put the hammer down when it doesn't need to be, and just treat it with respect.

nissan like most other japanes cars, yes even hondas have a reputation of being very dependable cars. this is not to say that they are all bullet prof, but with proper maintenance you shouldn't have any problem other than the occasional replacing of old parts. i mean were talking about a car that is about as old as you.

Heck, even the Excedy OEM spec clutch goes for about 150. But dont forget to have the flywheel checked and resurfaced (if it is ok).

Well today around 3pm by dad bought the 240 and surprised me cause I thought it would be saturday. When driving it the only gear that shakes is first gear. Its a badass car. I love it.Yeah its the twin cam 93 model to.Only thing I am worried now is someone tryin to steal it.

Like well I just know you can feel it shaking in the car......even passenger side..Oh and when you hit 50 its starts again and sometimes at 50 it doesnt. I think it needs an alignment or something.Plus muffler is out..when you change gears it sounds like a turbo lol.....What kind of muffler should I get?

shaking in first could be mounts shaking at 50-60 mph means your tires need to be ballanced and sounding like you have a turbo when you dont unintentionally is always bad
on another not offtopic: i went to pet supermarket and one of the workers saw my car and he said this, "you boosting?" im like no then he said "well i got a single cam civic on 12lbs of boost when you boost lets run it" .......... btw that is word for word..... man wtf ahhh i hate those fast and the furious kinda people i think they should all be shot. maybe i should put a bumper stick on my car "wana race? well thats nice good for you now gtfo"
