if u had one of those high powered audio systems and 3 tvs 3 xboxs, with a fish tank in ur back seats u may need to either beef ur altenator up and or ur battery or both. ( a big battery on a weak altenator is bad and visa versa)

I run one on stock alt and a yellow top.. plus a 1000 watt amp and 2 12s and components front and back.. i run about 14 volts through the system.. i have a volt meter too many drained batterys before the yellow top.. and everything is fine now.

you should not need a bigger alternator... the sho fan is rated at peak draw... which means that when the fan starts to move there can be a 20 amp spike to get it moving... after it starts spinning there will be a lot less of a current draw...as long as the fan is not wired up to stay on any time the ignition is on then it wont even tax your charging system... under a constant run situation the windings will get hot and it will increase in current draw and might run back up to 20 amps... in the original thread that this came from i posted a few pics of a connector under the fuse box that has been in every 240 89 to 93 240 i have worked on ... that is for the stock electric fan... even if your car did not have one stock the plug is there... others on the boards have looked and used this very same plug and it works every time...
and it only comes on when it is needed...

If you are worried about the electrical current/AMPS you are drawing from the alternator/battery you can buy your basic Rockford Fosgate Capacitor/ Lightning Cap at any audio store.
This supplies additional current for high impact electrical use........

search under electric fans on the forums... i posted a few pics of the plug that is under the fuse box... it was deso\igned to run the stock electrical fan for extra cooling while the ac was on but it works with the temp sensor as well... here are the pics tho...

the plug is grey in color with a brown plastic tab on the back... i dont remember the wire colors so i will go look tonight to get them for you... it is under the fuse box next to the battery tray... i will not say it is on every 89 to 94 nissan but i know tht i have checked 5 of them now and only one had a stock electric fan (mine) but the plug was still there in every one of the 5...
