z32 + SAFC + Cold Weather = weird??
z32 + SAFC + Cold Weather = weird??
Last summer I have dynoed my sr20det with z32 maf, 300zx fuel filter, 255 fuel pump using Apexi SAFCII and it was running great but when cold weather hit, my car started acting really weird so I had to lean the car alot with SAFCII.
Now I am thinking going stand alone ECU so I dont have to worry about this problem anymore in the future. Plus I am upgrading my injectors and turbo soon so why not. Did anyone have this problem? Going stand alone ECU will fix it?
Thanx

bro stand alone is not exempt from this
what happens was your car was tuned in a shop at room temperature with a fan maybe to bring down ambient temps slightly. when outside in the cold weather, you are taking in more cool air and the intercooler is cooling faster so your tune is thrown off due to the extra usable air and not enough fuel
dynoing is great but i have done my car and all other buddies cars on the road very late at night. also if you are in a place where climate changes alot. you have to develop more than one tune. stand alone will make that easy becuase your tune can change with the click of one button.

yea definately what he said, also to add to the problem, boost changes a lot too..what may be 15psi during the hot summer will sometimes be 17 or even 18psi during the winter..and as you can imagine that would make a big difference in your tune..
