Best Stock turbos for a Ka- T build
#16
Yeah i thought about doing that whole compressor map thing but i'm not intelligent enough to work that thing lol unless someone showed me how to use it.... but that is good news about the whole 70% on throttle to get into boost ... especially on the highway cause i don't wanna be running 3000 rpms going 70 mph and be in boost... that might burn up a little extra fuel....
Hey guys i did think of an idea tho i have the original exhaust mani for this turbo i wonder it i can cut off the flange (cast) and weld it onto another mani (steel) or (cast) can u weld cast to steel ?? or does it have to be cast to cast??
And JR i'm sorry if i said something that you didn't like in my last post... i was more or less agreeing with you cause i hope this turbo isn't gonna be to small?? and any input you have anything speak up because i have read alot of stuff you have written and i respect everything you have done accomplished and said on these forums....
thanks
Eric

Wouldnt it be easier to buy a new flange for the turbo then go off of that one?? Not sure about the whole welding onto cast iron part. I am assuming that your talking about building a header for this turbo??

figure out your budget and then set down some realistic goals. If this is your first time doing this sort of project I would reccomend using only new parts in your setup. It will really save you time and money to do it right the first time. This is not to say you can't use an oem turbocharger... there are plenty of affordable oem rebuilt/remanufactured units available on ebay etc.
