no matter how much you spend when modding a car you will come across issues..

however i have never had one down day since boosted.. issues yea but nothing major.

i used to rev my SR to 7k everyday >.> but ya KA-T is good cause you get more power then a stock SR and its cheaper to do. but then again after 240-250whp i think the SR is cheaper to make reliable power untill 350-400whp then its all expensive

never had a KA-T im just basing my view of KA-T from other people that have them. i got a SR im building atm but i got my NA ka for now lol

but from what i read with a T28 or similar turbo 12psi on a stock KA with the right tune is the most you can go safely and thats most likely around 250whp

now if your goal is a safe 300-350hp the SR is cheaper cause you dont have to replace the internals like a KA would have to at that hp

i drive my ka-t every day to class and to run errands. it makes 200mile drives just fine too. only problem is that my turbo seals are shot and it burns alot of oil, that will be fixed with a new setup soon.

from my personal experience and what i have gathered over the years. the weak point of the KA are the ringlands. other than that everything else is stout if you treat it with respect.. now any motor beat on will have issue with a owner that neglects it.. lol i personally check my engine before and after every trip, im **** about it.
