240 Recommendations Q's *Parts*

Hello all board members, I have a 92 Blue-Silver Nissian 240sx SE Hatchback. It has a stock KA24de motor in its bay. I have been looking to get a few things for my car, some things include:

1. Cold Air Intake
2. Header
3. Exhaust
4. Cams

These are what was recommended to me and there prices with shipping.

1. AEM 22-400
$150.00
Injen IS1920
$204.00
2. DC Header NHC4203
$353.00
Pace Setter
$159.00
3. Apex N1 Single Exhaust
$500.00
Apex N1 Double Exhaust
$615.00
4. Crower Turbo Cams
$400.00
*For A NA*

What does everyone else recommend?

Thanks,
Tyler

1. Those are fine.
2. DC and Pacesetter are both pretty crappy. Try Hotshot or something, I dunno if they make them for the S13's.
3. Both are good, my bro has the N1 Single on his 99 DSM, and ti sounds really good.
4. Why get turbo cams for a N/A application?

So DC and Pace arent a good header company? Then what is a good company that makes headers for s13's?

And alot of people recommend turbo cams for NA motors. What about JWT cams?

*What would be your first mod?*

turbo cams on a na will slow it down. get na cams from jim wolf or nismo. and a jim wolf ecu. get a 2.5 exhaust a turbo exhaust you will loose low end power. my first mod would be a tune up and then suspension and an lsd.

the dc header is a lot better than any hotshot header... not to mention dc is smog exempt if you live in a city where they do emissions testing... yes dc started as a honda/acura company but that does not mean that they are not good at making them for other cars... they raised hp and torque in a ka that was tested in import tuner a while back... i have the dc header and as far as workmanship and quality... they did not disapoint me in thoes areas... i would recogmend them to anyone looking for a header for their ka...

as far as cams go i also have the jwt cams and i like them as well i had other valve train problems that did not allow me to fully test them or get my car on a dyno but the throttle response from idle to 3000 rpm was quick and very responsive... quite snappy at take off under load... again i would suggest them to anyone who is looking for cams...

if you deide to get the cams then an intake and better exhaust is needed to get the most benifit out of the cams... other things like a chipped ecu and bigger fuel injectors and throttle body are also good things to get... you will get the most out of the cams if you have everything to support them...
