3500+ rpms bucking wild S14

Alrighty... Got the car entirely buttoned up this morning, started her up and let it come to a warm state and natural idle.

Well a few things... Near the front of the VC, I'm hearing some rattling. It goes away once the RPMs go up, but its still there at idle and lower rpms. I'm thinking this is part of my problem.

When driving or sitting still revving up the engine, it will get to 3500+rpms, then just start to buck wildly (while driving), and while sitting still it really just wont rev much past this.

Anybody think this might be cam related? The KA24DE runs flawlessly aside from what I have described. Also, I am getting puffs of blue smoke (yea oil, I know ) but I'm not sure if the oil burning is related to the issue at hand.

I've gotta work all weekend and will be checking the forums around this time in the day and when I get home in the wee hours or the morning.

Gimme some help guys, I wanna start driving the car really soon, gas is killing me in the Mustang.

hmm, rattling noise might be timing chain guides. hopefully it hasnt broken off. if not valve tap perhaps?

you might have dirty/clogged injectors, so try some seafoam in the gas tank if you havent done so already. not sure how to test if injectors are capable of flowing good.

any other clues/symptoms?

its sounds like it could either be your injectors or if its at the front i would take off yoru front cover behind the pulleys and just check your chain. Also what type of spark plugs are you running i had a friend with a Mazda pickup that was running Platium 4's and his car was pinging and come to find out it was because of the sparkplugs wierd huh, so he went back to oem spark plugs and it fixed the problem. Sure hope its not a bent valve or somthing hope that helps.
