I've got a better question for me anyway...what is the advantage of the 5-lug conversion other than just the larger selection of wheels...as I understand it, the 300zx brake conversion can be done with the 4-lug still on the car

it's not so much just "selection" of wheels, but proper offset for the wheels. Most 4-lug wheels are designed with FWD offsets. Also, you can do the 3Z brake conversion to a 4 lug, but how about the rotors? You have to redrill to 4 lug pattern.

so there are no rotors of that size with the 4-lug pattern....I was not aware of that....interesting...so...since I plan on the brake conversion I think I will wait on my wheel selection until that part is completed,

thanks

you can buy new 300zx rotors drilled for 4 lug, but you still have the problem fitting the brakes over most of the stock 240 rims, and most aftermarked 4 lug rims.

they way i would do it would be 5 lug, 300zx brakes, 300zx rims. you get a wider rim thats cheap, you save money on the brake conversion, and the amazing bling factor of 5 lug.
