96 240sx converting to stick shift

hey

everyone i have a question i planning to convert my 96 240sx to manul do i have to remove the dashboard and remove the wires that connected to the ecu?? or i don't have too what esle i need let me know thanks..

well..you need to swap the ecu..dont have to but it would be good to. as far as the dash..i dont think its nessecary..just the center console-ish part

do i have to switch the ecu cause is auto it won't work onthe manul tranny so u have to change it anything else..

the auto ecu will work but the i heard the manual ecu will help it start better in the winter and stuff so idonno...

and i have a question of my own.. if you got rid of the auto ecu and put in the manual ecu then you would have a govenor right...
considering auto 240's didnt

youre actually better off staying with the auto ecu... it dosent have a speed governor in it like the 5spd ecu

Yeah, you want to switch out the ECU to a manual one. With an auto ECU, your idle will be all F'ed up if you have a 5 speed. As for governors/rev limiters, you are a retard if you plan on going over 120... Plus, if you plan on racing AT A TRACK, you can have somebody tune your ECU or get a new ECU/piggyback that will remove the governor and rev limiters...
