97 to 95 engine swap

Does anyone know what it takes to swap a 97 240sx engine/trans(auto) into a 95? I know the engine and transmission will fit but is a new ecu and wiring harness required? The engines do need to meet California emissions requirements. Thanks.

the engine nor does the ecu need to be the california model.. just the catilytic converters need to be OBD1 CARB spec. you need to use your ecu. your wire harness. and your intake and exhaust manifold and your good to go..

Correction on the 95, depending on what month it was produced it can be either OBD 1 or OBD 2. OBD 2 comes with an additional sensor after the CAT.
