bad idle with 91 oct

I dont think our cars were programed to use 91, for some reason when im in idle for long periods of time... say.. 2... 5 minutes, the car idles goes down to maybe 400 rpm, but the car runs fine while driving no other problem. Has any one else noticed this ? I mean the car runs soo freaking nice on 89 compaird to 87, so id thought to try 91 and the only problem that happens is when i idel for a while..

I use 94 octane and dont notice an idling change or problem when having the car idling for a while. Maybe you had some bad gas that was watered down a bit or does it do it whenever u get 91?

Yeah, I don't have an idleing problem with any specific octane. I always use the 91 octane and I don't have any problems.

Best of luck,
Matt

I used to switch back and forth between 89 and 91 but I felt no difference while driving, except how my wallet was thinner whenever I got 91

I have no argument there. You make an awfully valid point. I just go for the higher octane in a hopes that its cleaner and leaves fewer residuals.

Best wishes,
Matt
