stock cams are 350 to 367... so you have 120 on intake and 103 on exhaust... in terms of a big motor that is not a whole lot... but as far as a 4 banger goes it is quite substantial...

Holy crap Wikd your car is going to be a beast. Is this replacing your previous build up? And where the hell do you get all of this dough? Dammit I hate being broke

they are already available to anyone who wants to shell out the money to have em ground... but as soon as i have done the work and have the dyno sheets i will have the exact specs on each of the 4 sets of cams i am going to be working on... as well as a new reflash chip for the ecu for each set of cams... im doing this in 4 stages... each of the stages will be depending on what mods have been done to the motor...

plans also are in the works to build a custom intake that will work on all 4 stages...

there will also be a set of kits that will upgrade any motor to any stage of cams used... and im looking at doing all of this for about 40% less than we are paying for parts as of now...

the biggest thing i face is the inital money to get into making the cams and developing the kits that will be needed for each stage of build up and then the dyno timy i will be spending on each motor setup... but i plan to have everything done this year and information on how and where to get the kits... then the support system for people building with the kits i am putting together...

the last project on the list will be a turnkey motor with brake in already done and dyno sheets included...

the dyno will be done in a car so that there will be real rear wheel horsepower and torque numbers...giving everyone who buys the parts or motors a real idea of what they are getting and whatthe gains are going to be for the money they shell out...

Wikd, i know your doing a dual cam, but could you point me in the right direction for a single cam? i don't know if its worth it, but i'm utterly in love with my N/A single cam. I was looking at JWT Cam and the Nissan Performance Cam.

Nissan Cam: 270*/.402"
JWT: Ex-256* In-248/ .422"

Looking at the JWT tuned ECU and MAFS. Nismo Pistons will bump compression up to 9.1:1, what do you think? Let me know if you have any suggestions or other parts that i can look into.

i think you will find that the jim wolfe tech ecu is tuned way short of what the motor is able to handle... there was a thread on nico (i found after dropping 2900) on jwt tuning being 40 hp lower than some of the other tuners out there... that 40 hp is a lot when you are spending 4 grand on a motor... go with the nissan parts... they are almost the same as jwt as far as cams go... but search for a different ecu... you dont want to pay 500 bucks to be missing 40 hp...

on the pistons... if you get the race ones from nissan you can get upto 11.0 to 1 compression... screamin on the sohc... and as vinnie always reminds us get a safc it will be worth the money when you do get to building the motor... i lost all of the research i was doing on the sohc when i got my 93 coupe... so i dont know where to start in that area... just keep on looking they are out there... if need be contace gude and see what they can do for you... they are doing one hell of a lot for the new motor packages im working on putting together...

Thanks, i'll keep an eye out for another ECU. You think i can touch 180 RWHP with Cams, header, exhaust, MAFS, ECU, SAFC, Intake, and possibly port and polish.

you should be able to yes....that is not that much over stock hp... you might want to do fuel system upgrades as well while you are at it....

Have you ever heard of Hybrid KA? They have a SOHC cam thats:

Intake 270 duration, .443" Lift
Exhaust 272 duration, .448" Lift

Thats better than both the Nismo and JWT. I just don't want to buy something that isn't quality. Has anyone got anything from them? There are those adj. solid lifters. Will those be better than the ones i have now?

I am going to buy a programmer for eproms... I haven't touched this stuff since my high school electronics class at the Votec... I am really going to try and start programming chips... I have a lot of good info on how to get started..

having a baseline chip is the first starting place... then you need a program that will allow you to mod that program and make a new one.... then burn it to a chip... it is not that hard other than getting everything together and the dyno to make the mods...
