Busted Distributor Cap

Would a busted distributor cap affect the performance of my engine? I got to looking under the hood and noticed that my cap was cracked and pieces were missing.

are you talking about the cover where it says nissan?

the cap is the piece where the rotor hits as it spins. as long as the points on the cap are still in tact, you should be good. and youre missing your front undercover too

it's that thing that covers the bottom front end of your car. it goes from the bottom of the bumper to about the cross member.

i hear it aids with radiator cooling. but it also collects dirt and oil sludge if youre leaking. and also if you drop bolts and tools... =/
