Exclamation Calling all ka24de experts

Hey guys Im new to the 240 owners club. I just bought a 96 240sx se. I ran the engine before i bought it rev it up you know took it around the block a little. I finished washing it today and i start it up and there is blueish smoke coming from the tail pipe. I know a lil about engines so i get a pressure tester and hook it up the pressure holds so I'm thinking it's the piston rings. Sorry bout the long post.

sounds like you're burning oil. I haven't really known KA's to self destruct like that even at Red line.

Thanks guys for replying i know im burning oil im trying to get insite on how bad you guys think it is. I'm thinking head gasket, piston rings, or my oil seals. Can anyone zero in on it from the symptoms i listed above. By the way the mileage on the car is 87388 and its an auto. Should i just swap the engine and tranny out cuz i was thinking of doing that anyway.

If its a head gasket..it'll look look like steam from the heat but it wont go away like normal steam

I found this for you....they are three possible causes...

1The engine's piston rings may be worn
2The engine's valve seals may be worn
3Damaged or worn valve guides

to fix it..replace them.

funny thing it just stop. I forgot to tell the whole story. My muffler is rusted to all hell also while i was cleaning it i sprayed some water in to the tailipipe by accident.
I'm still gonna get a diagnostic done on it b4 I proceed with the modds.
