car dies...

car dies...
ok well i did the alternator,
and it still dies after about 10 min just sitting there not moving, and well if it is moving, obviously it dies faster..
SO
now i can eliminate the alternator as a problem source.
it seems that the engine goes into a VERY rough idle, and then sputters and finally dies,
i was thinking volt regulator since its not built into the alternator, and therefor the alternator wouldn't be accepting the charge.
OR
a faulty ground, but i really doubt that because the car dies no matter what.
maybe its the head gasket...?
thanks,

Here's a good idea. Check your ECU for a DC. Goto www.********** and goto the FAQ section.
Sounds like you may have a big vacuum leak, bad injector, bad plug/wires, or a bad MAF.

sorry, i was told the volt regualtor wasn't in the alternator..
what do i know? i am a nub lol.
it still needed a new alternator anyways, and now atleast i can rule that out.
thanks, i'll try and figure something out with it

Take your ecu out and test for codes. With the key on and the car not running, get to the back of the ecu amd you'll see a screw.Turn it fully clockwise than back to its counter clockwise position. You can either look at you check engine light to get the codes or the back of your ecu.I think it starts off blinking fast, that would be the first number and the second would be the slow blink.
To me your problem sounds like a leaky injector(check O rings) or a bad throttle position sensor.Somethings causing your car to get to much or not enough fuel.
