Crazy intake sound & a few Q's

Ok, here goes. I have multiple questions here. Let me tell you the history first that way you have some idea what is going on.
I took my 96 to the shop because there where some strange sounds coming from the front of the engine bay on the drivers side. At idle sometimes it would be a screeching sound. It was never very constant but every now and then. I thought maybe it was a shot bearing in something that was catching every now and then. I also noticed that a few seconds after I shut off the car sometimes it would make a kind of whine/blow sound from that area.
They look it over and tell me my intake is hooked up wrong. They unhooked the hose that goes from point (A) on the valve cover to point (B) on the intake. They plugged point (B) and left the hose hang from point (A). They said it was letting air escape and that was what the sound was.
The intake is a cheep ebay short ram that does not fit very well. The angle at the throttle body is pretty off. I have already ordered an AEM short ram to replace it, should **** out any day now.
Questions:
1. Does this sound right? Can the air be blowing back into the intake that bad from point (A)? I felt there was some air blowing out so I put a little blower filter on it for now. Also, it looks to me that the AEM is hooked up this way also, does the AEM have this problem as well?
2. On this crappy ebay intake there is a problem with the hose that goes from point (C) on the intake to point (D) on the front of the motor. When I connect it because of the angle of the intake nipples to the angle of the nipple on the motor the hose bends and pinches off. Will this be an issue on the AEM? (I’m assuming not)
Point (E) is why I am changing this intake. The intake pipe and the throttle body meet at a 45 degree angle. I know this can’t be right. There is a burn mark on the silicone connector. You can see it circled in the image I link to at the bottom of this post. I linked to it because it is a bit larger than the first image and didn’t want to bog anyone down. You can also see more detail of what they did to my intake. A sort of after shot.
Maybe the fact that the engine and the intake meet in diferent angles and it is corrected by the rubber part ( I think thats what u were saying) makes a wind wishtle, therefore when diferent air speeds travell trough the intake, the sound may go on or off. The rubber hose(litle one from point A to B) is ok, i cheked it on my car and thats were it goes, you can put a breather on it, its ok, this is just for emissions.
that's funny that a mechanic said oyu hooked it up wrong ... what a dumbass. i'm assuming you did hook it up correctly, i mean it's not hard, 3 hoses, 3 spots to hook it up.
oh well, i got an ebay intake as well, and didn't have problems.

Well, yeah. It does diminish my faith in my mechanic. Good people but I don’t think they are into the performance side of imports. Which still does not explain anything since the stock pipe is hooked up basically the same way the AEM or eBay pipe does. Three hoses, three spots.
I got the AEM intake yesterday. Installed it (by the book, but doing nothing different then the eBay short ram) and gave it a test run. No funny sounds so far.
I think the sound was coming from the size/angle of the eBay pipe. Went ahead and put on a new rotor and button at the same time and between the three my acceleration feels clean and smooth. Oh, and the AEM short ram fitment is perfect, just like everyone says it is.

The 240sx is teaching me not to be cheap when it comes to parts. You may be paying a little extra for good quality parts but when it comes to things like fitment you get your money's worth.

Thats the only part i'm still having problems with. For now I have a very long hose connecting it (see picture 2) so that it will loop and not pinch off. Any tips on this spot?
