custom exhaust

I'm debating right now about sending a pipe from the cat, out the side of the car built into one of the side skirts with no muffler just basically a strait pipe from the cat. Im interested to see what you guys think of this idea. Im also interested to see if anyone has any experience with welded diffs. and any problems I might encounter if I did this if I should do it all. Thanks in advance for any info you guys can give me.

my bro has a apexi n1 muffler and custum piping witch is just a 3" piping from the turbo to the muffler nuthing in betweens sounds mean im gonna do the same thing so i can have my exhaust hugging the boddy instead of it dropping down scense my car is slamed. and about welded diffs it is dirt cheap but it mught break loose i think thats the worse it could happen

the car being friggin loud is the problem. i think it'll sound very bad and you can get pulled over often for it since police wont see a muffler in the back of your car. welded diff is a cheap and works. its very bad for daily driving however.

what inch piping are you planning on using? custom piping on an n/a ka would be loud. i think it would be louder coming out of your side of your car. ive never seen a 240 with exhaust coming out from the side it.

i have a question also. if you break your welded diff wouldnt your diff become an open diff?

It will sound close to what a 240 sounds like without exhaust, which is very loud and ****ty. 240's also run well with backpressure, I'm not sure if that would effect your performance or not. I wouldn't suggest it, it's sort of ricer'ish to do it on a 4 banger import anyway.

...hmm if you have the exhaust coming out of the side of the car... like in front of the rear tire, like scc's project srt-4 (iirc) it might have some performace gains if you use the right size pipe and add some resonators in line, but inside the car itll be hella loud and with a gutted cat youll be able to smell all the unburned fuel and stuff (i experience this every day) and youll get bad headaches on long drives and get lightheaded and stuff. Bottom line is: if you want it, go for it. Its your car, dont let us tell you what to do with it, originality is key. If you do it, post pics and stuff... at one point i was thinking about having pipes made to come out in front of the 2 rear tires and i thought that would be sick as hell... i like the idea, i just think that it needs to be quieted down somehow.
